2019 – The 14th year – a HUGE success
304 cataract and pterygium surgeries were carried out free of charge to patients in 2019. Funds for this project were provided by the Rotary Foundation, through District 9920, from donations from our sponsors shown on our sister website at rotaryeyesfiji.com and from private donations.
The statistics below show just how successful the 2019 TEP was in terms of Fijian eyes repaired. A truly amazing amount of effort went in to this year’s project – the first year without the guiding hand of Geoffrey Amos. We offer special thanks to two club members – Peter Malden, honorary member and member of the Rotary club of Boronia in Victoria, Australia and Treasurer Michael Prasad, without whom the organisational structure would have been non-existent.
The Rotary Club of Taveuni has a website specially for the Taveuni Eye Project.
